AppArmor Hosting

The AppArmor systems are hosted on the Microsoft Azure Geo-Redundant Infrastructure.

For cloud infrastructure, AppArmor utilizes the Microsoft Azure Geo-Redundant Platform. Azure has more security certifications than any other cloud provider and leads the industry in establishing clear security and privacy requirements and then consistently meeting these requirements. Azure meets a broad set of international and industry-specific compliance standards, such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3, as well as country-specific standards, such as Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) and more.

The Microsoft Azure Trust Center contains a searchable database of all certifications and reports available, including those included above along with literally dozens more. We would recommend you refer to this site for detailed information.

The Azure systems are also geo-redundant and hosted in multiple locations across the appropriate jurisdiction (i.e. US servers across the US) to reduce platform risk. This means, that if a particular data centre has a catastrophic failure, backup systems are already operational, thereby eliminating system downtime and data loss.

Moreover, the Azure systems also allow for dynamic scaling of CPUs depending on the stress on the platform due to large numbers of mass notifications. That is, the system automatically scales up to ensure that it can both handle the payload of a large simultaneous send and hit the delivery timeframes set out in this document.

The SLA for the Azure system on which AppArmor is hosted is 99.99%.

Aside from Azure, our software is reviewed by multiple developers for reliability, security and polish as part of our continuous development procedures. We follow safe development practices. We periodically (minimum of quarterly) run third party penetration tests to ensure that all software is operating with the highest level of security possible.
